We excavate to depth, build and compact the base in lifts, screed bedding sand, then set and lock the field with edge restraint and joint sand.
Pavers also let us fix what settles. A section that moves can be lifted, re-based, and reset with the same stone — something you cannot do with a poured slab without tearing it out.

What it costs
Patios start at $20 per square foot installed, with most landing between $20 and $26. Tearing out an old surface, poor soil, or tight access adds to it. Every project gets a free on-site estimate and a written price before anything is ordered.

- No. We are paver-based by choice. Pavers move with frost instead of cracking, and individual sections can be lifted and reset later.
- How deep is the base?
- It depends on the soil and the use, but we dig past the topsoil and build compacted base in lifts rather than dumping one thick layer. That is the part that decides whether the patio is still flat in five years.
- How long does a patio take?
- A typical residential patio runs a few days on site once we start, weather permitting. We give you the window with the estimate.
- Can you repair a patio someone else built?
- Often, yes. If the base is sound we can reset settled sections. If the base is the problem we will tell you straight rather than patch it twice.
